This
process can do to downgrade A5 devices (iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new iPad 4G)
on Mac computers. By using RedSn0w 0.9.11b1 then afterwards you can continue to
untethered jailbreak iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new 4G iPad running IOS 5.0.1.
Note:
Make sure you have saved SHSH blobs for IOS 5.0.1 on the local using
TinyUmbrella, etc., or Cydia should keep 5.0.1 blobs in order to the downgrade
process runs successfully. Here is the way:
- Donwload the latest version of RedSn0w 0.9.11b1.
- Donwload the latest firmware (IOS 5.1.1) that correspond to your device, also 5.0.1 firmware (iDownload)
- Put the device in DFU mode.
- Run RedSn0w 0.9.11b1, make sure RedSn0w detecting device in DFU mode. Then select the option Extras> Even More> Restore and click on IPSW existing under IPSW section. Furthermore RedSn0w will ask IOS 5.0.1 IPSW. Once you have placed IOS 5.0.1, RedSn0w will ask for the latest firmware (IOS 5.1.1).
- When both firm wares have been detected, then you should put SHSH blobs that have been stored. If the iDevice you use has been jailbroken, then SHSH blobs can be found in Cydia and you can use the Remote option. If iDevice you use has not been jailbroken and you have saved SHSH blobs with tools such as TinyUmbrella, then select Local and browse computer to find blobs. We recommend using the first option (Remote).
- Once blobs verified then the RedSn0w will do its job. First, RedSn0w will install a hacked version of the latest firmware (IOS 5.1.1) and then downgrade the firmware to IOS 5.0.1.
- If the downgrade successful then you will be given a message that the downgrade runs successfully. Next you just setup device and check that iDevice has been running IOS 5.0.1 via Settings> General> About.

4S iPhone, iPad 2 and the new iPad 4G that run IOS 5.0.1 is ready for an
untethered jailbreak.
